Legrand Lighting Notice
Below is an update from Legrand regarding their 3rd-party lighting drivers and some firmware updates coming that will “break” the control if their gear is updated. They are working on a new driver, but it will not be ready before they must release this firmware due to regulations in California/Oregon.
NOTE: RTI does not host this driver on our store, it is available here: https://janustechnology.co.uk/products/drivers/manufacturer/legrand-on-q/legrand-on-q-lighting-driver-for-rti/
Short explanation:
- Existing systems are fine. Do not update until new driver is ready.
- New installs should wait until new driver is ready.
- New driver is estimated early February.
Long version:
DO NOT update any Legrand RF Smart Lighting Systems after January 1st until the new IP drivers become available for download.
Due to the recent California and Oregon legislation, we will be updating our Legrand RF Smart Lighting Control system. The update will include a firmware update for the LC7001 hub along with an updated app for Android and iOS. There are three scenarios highlighted below. The three scenarios are highlighted below.
Currently, we are working to update the existing IP drivers and these are expected to be available for release in mid-February (potentially earlier).
Scenario 1: Existing customer that updates FW and app BEFORE Dec 31
- No forced system password creation. Still will be able to get future FW and app updates without a forced system password update.
Scenario 2: Existing customer that updates FW and app AFTER Dec 31
- On Jan 1, they will not be able to control lights or scenes manually via the app while at home
- They will be forced to update the FW and app in order for the system to work which will include an in-app forced password creation for the system
- Any existing IP-based integrations will need a driver update – new versions of the drivers will be needed and are targeted to be available mid-February
Scenario 3: New customer that sets up system for first time with NEW FW and app AFTER Dec 31
- As part of system set up, they will get in-app instructions to set up a unique system password
- IP-based integrations will require new versions of drivers and are targeted to be available mid-February
